Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst Launch
Working to promote our first party titles out of our internal studio was some of the more rewarding work I did while at Big Fish Games. For this launch, I wanted to make a big splash and as such started exploring options for reaching our target audience (Emily, the soccer mom) online.
In conversations with my contacts at Yahoo!, I talked their ad sales team into allowing us, a competitor of Yahoo! Games, to perform a home page takeover for the Thanksgiving holiday. This 3-day take-over was north of a $300k ad spend that not only penciled out, but also signified a changing of the guard as every gained customer was one lost for our fierce competitor.
