Hello, fellow adventure enthusiasts! I recently had the incredible opportunity to immerse myself in one of the top escapes rooms near Seattle, the captivating world of “Kidnap County” hosted by Kitsap Great Escape (which is also one of the featured Escape Rooms up on Haunt Society this month). Located on the interior of the Olympic Peninsula (and a short drive from downtown Seattle or Sea-Tac airport) Silverdale, WA is a gem of small town with a dark and mysterious past.
The team at Kitsap Great Escape has created this limited-time escape room experience, aptly named “Kidnap County,” that takes you on an unforgettable journey to uncover the truth about Lacey Cross, a young girl who mysteriously vanished eight years ago. Her family’s relentless quest to find her has brought us to this chilling escape room, and I must say, it was a rollercoaster of a thriller from start to finish.
The Enigmatic Setup
As we walked into the Kitsap Great Escape, we were immediately transported into the world of private investigators and saw that this experience was one of four available at the venue.
Today’s mission: follow the latest lead in the perplexing case of Lacey Cross’s abduction. The eerie atmosphere, complete with dim lighting and eerie sound effects, set the stage for an adventure that was both spine-tingling and mind-bending.
Twists, Turns, and Laughter Galore
While unraveling the secrets of Lacey’s disappearance, our group encountered countless surprises and a fair share of hilarity.
I couldn’t help but chuckle as my friends Craig and Jim struggled with lockers in one of the rooms. Watching Craig attempting to spell “PINK” was a comedy show in itself – sometimes, the simplest of tasks can prove to be the most challenging.
I would say that at different times each of us displayed extremely high levels of incompetency.

Speaking of unexpected moments, we were in for a treat when former NBA star Todd MacCulloch, who stands at an impressive 7 feet tall, found himself on the wrong end of a not-so-gentle encounter with a trap door. However, it seems that the head bonk did wonders for Todd, as moments later, he channeled his inner “Beautiful Mind” mode, solving one of the escape room’s most challenging puzzles. It just goes to show that even the most unexpected mishaps can lead to triumphs in the world of escape rooms.

Our unforgettable adventure at Kitsap Great Escape was made even more special thanks to the Bobby Roe, a prominent horror film director and actor, who discovered and setup this one of a kind experience, and it was nothing short of a 5-star experience.
